kenosis

Coming January 1, 2027

Set down what you're carrying.

Kenosis is a quiet place to find the moment you are in, read words from people who have been there, and take one small step.

The name

Kenosis means self-emptying.

It is an old word for setting down what we are carrying, to make room for something lighter. Not losing anything. Not becoming less. Letting the weight go, so there is room to breathe.

Most of us were never taught how to do that. We learned to hold on, to push through, to keep going. Kenosis is a place to practice the other thing: noticing what is here, saying something true about it, and letting a little of it go.

What is coming

Two ways in.

Situations

A library of moments: comparing myself, waking up anxious, feeling left out, a hard money decision. You find the one you are in. You read a short reflection from people who have been there. You say three lines you can believe. You take one small practice, sixty seconds long, that you can do anywhere.

The 40-Day Program

Forty quiet days in four movements: Arriving, Naming, Releasing, Living. One short practice each day, in order, with no streaks to break and nothing to catch up on.

Kenosis is not therapy, and it never pretends to be. It is a companion for the moments in between.

The podcast

Live, every Saturday.

Live every Saturday at 1:30 PM Central. Matt, Astrid, and John talk plainly about the moments that are hard to carry, and what helps.

Who we are

Three people who needed this too.

We are building Kenosis because we went looking for it and could not find it. A place that meets you in the moment, without a label, and offers one small thing to do.
